At least a couple of XMs in this condition, and if you buy them right you can make a start at tidying them up with the change.
Good answer. But I was thinking more along the lines of, What are these vehicles really worth, how does their value compare to other daily necessities, like a refrigerator freezer, a flat screen TV, 2 pairs of custom made shoes, 2 properly fitting designer suits, a German made dishwasher, a weekend holiday in Greece, a few consults with a marriage counselor, an hour in Las Vegas.
The conclusion can only be that there is no logic in how we spend/(ab)use our hard earned income. For someone acquiring a vehicle at a fraction of its original selling price - called depreciation? - there might be an advantage, to the buyer as well as the environment, seemingly, as it won't be scrapped right away. But what really is the other side of the story? How about the first buyer who suffers a huge write off in no time at all? Who foots the bill for that? The owner himself? The company? The environment?
I guess there is no immediate good answer. We make decisions based on what we think is good for us at this moment in time. I myself have bought cars, starting in the early sixties at prices teenagers could easily afford with their pocket money. A ton or more of iron and additional materials, nicely shaped and rolling, at the price of a night at a hotel. We harvest (rape?) produce and junk. Ad infinitum.
Well, most of this may be

but I do support anyone and everyone who buys, preserves, keeps, admires XMs.
Sorry for the rant
