This looks like a nice one!

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

I like the gadgets and the gizmos but that looks tidy and comfy.

Smart looking car with turbo and manual box in a great colour.
I'd love it and the spec is fine and nicely uncluttered! ;)

- wonder if a bid get's is close to the £200 if the reserve isn't set at the high end
of £700 although if not usual Xm value that's still banger money if shopping for
other stuff?

I didn't realise this was a manual.

TCT manuals are good, and hard to come by. I have my old white TCT manual back for the weekend to check it over for the MOT. I prefer the manual TCT xm, to the Activa, although the Activa has a nicer gear change.

Someone on here can surely give this nice XM a good home, and cherish it, use it as a Sunday car to take to rallies etc.

The clutch and gearchange of an Activa would be nice on the XM TCT but at least the bigger
car has the clear advantage of better fuel consumption figures - guess it's the ratios of the Xant
gearbox that punishes the smaller lighter car? The engine spec is identical AFAIK between the two.

You'll know the answer to this question Andrew. In a straight line, which is quicker, the TCT XM, or the Activa? I was following the Activa in the TCT XM once, on a long journey, and I thought the XM was a bit quicker than the Activa. I would have expected the Activa to be quicker with it being smaller and lighter.

With all of mine, indisputably the Activae are the faster cars. No hesitation or ambiguity.
Probably why they're thirsty brutes.

Ohh, my Activa musn't be at its best (I have had the engine management light come on at times when really hammering it, and it being down on power when the light is on), or its my imagination that the XM felt faster. Activa fuel consumption really bugs me. For such poor fuel economy, I want performance that will at least match it!

the activa is still a weighty old car, im sure its not far off the xm's 1500kg's but will have to check, the engines are identical in almost every way.

Well, if the figures found don't lie, according to a Google the Kerb weights are;

Activa 1410 kg 3109 lb
Xm TCT saloon 1400 kg 3086 lb

 probably the gearing makes the Activa more urgent in acceleration so sprinting off the line will be faster but
ultimately the Xm will catch and match the top speed but be more secure/stable due to the longer wheelbase.
Probably down to the twisting roads where I live the Activa is easily the one that feels more the point and squirt
'sportscar' so I'm probably being influenced by this too. And another thing. Where the question is quick in a straight
line; is this from stationary or ultimate top speed? Probably the Xm will actually be better in top end motorway lope!

Interesting and something I'm going to pay more attention to.

The Activa would win getting from A to B via some serious twisty stuff. Hmm, I'll have to do some more conclusive tests next year when its taxed and insured again.
