FS - 2.1TD VSX N plated MANUAL ESTATE in green

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Hi Kit,

never saw a pm yesterday or I wouldn't have planned it's disposal today.

you're lucky, although the car started first turn of the key this afternoon after a slumber of a couple of
months, my s1 24v v6 in it's way didn't want to start so I couldn't get the VSX onto the trailer! :| Seems
the v6 needs massive amounts of power to turn it over yet the battery happily fired the 2.1. :?

The plipper still works a treat too. Only other thing to note today was the immobiliser cover flap works
nicely but doesn't stay shut flat so get's a bit in the way.

The car is in Llandeilo so nearer you than Cardiff or Swansea; in fact, you're likely nearer it than I am!*
 * geography was never my strongest subject in school so I may be exaggerating a bit. :D

If you're around you're welcome to see it tomorrow as I'm back at the barn where it's located.

Andrew, Swmbo is away in the car til Friday so won't be able to make it to see the car tommorrow, but the weekend would be good. Your geography is not too bad, it's 40miles to Llandeilo from home. Cheers, Kit

Hi Kit,

That sounds like a plan.:D

Should you see and want the car it could trailered over to you on the weekend although I'll
need to confirm when as I'm meeting up with Will and Campbell on the Sun IIRC. I'm more
interested in finding it a new home first and foremost and then worrying about payment
afterwards at the end of the month if it helps you although I will need to start paying my
father back for the trailer sometime. :? It may take me a little while to dig out the car's
service history documentation folder pack as I have a fair quantity of them!

If it's planned as a second car it will be worth getting the bumper and Nosecone off
Andrew's 2.5 that's being broken in Mere which may be possible to get relayed along
to you. Well worth having being the same colour and age etc and possibly only going
to scrap otherwise.

Hi Andrew, I can probably sort out transport myself. Is that Will, Dieselman your meeting? If so I still have an alternator here with his name on. There are quite a few parts I would like from Mere, perhaps I will post a list on the other thread. Kit

I have been looking for £250 minimum. Replacement clutch available
separately although was originally prepared to haggle at my initial
asking price with the clutch kit included.

scrap cars are currently at £120/tonne so I'd be daft albeit very sad to
accept anything less than £200 weigh in and sell the perfect recent
radiator, coded Citroën radio, working plipper & locks and estate towbar
on eBay - that would probably generate another £80+.

Goddammit, even the electric window motors all work and don't forget s2
Xm's don't normally do working windows! WHM on ebay have been selling
these second hand for £80 EACH door!!

I can't verify it has, but it appears from closer scrutiny of the engine that it's
head has been off before suggesting a replacement head gasket which as
PeterN has said about 2.1 motoring, needs replacing at around 150k miles
Xm's. Certainly after glowplugs light, engine fires first turn and it idles well.

TBH, I'd like to see the car go to it's next CARING home first and hustle the
full payment as and when a buyer can. It's a bit of chicken and egg for me
though; I could deliver at cost if I had a tow car up and legal but to do that
I need some funds to MOT and Tax a 2.5 Exclusive I plan on running.

 I'm not expecting to see that price paid either! That said, I have read somewhere quite recently
where someone did cough up that obscene price just to get an opening driver's window. My father
has said in the past something like one window as a one off fix would be worth gritting of teeth
and coughing up that sort of money but I wouldn't.

Just illustrating the values attached to certain items on these cars by different people. In the end,
I'm only after a fair value that's matching the scrap weigh in.
