I once read a report of a car trailer with a Safrane on it being stolen from a motorway services area. A while later the Safrane was found dumped and the trailer gone.

The Safrane was on it's way back from Perkins where it had had the new experimental engine fitted to it for testing. it was the only one in the World and was worth £1million in development costs...

If you want a car that won't get nicked..buy a Safrane...

I love the 25, and the PRV in the 25 should be good! And make a nice sound like the XM S1's
That's if we can get the old girl going again! I grew up with a Renault 21, and the 25 always appealed as the bigger, better version.

This particular one is a Phase 2 1989 2.9 V6 Auto. Executive. Fully loaded with buttons scattered everywhere! I still have to go see her, hopefully within the next week, and if I end up taking this project on, I'll be sure to post my progress on here!

And yes, The Safrane is excellent, and REALLY cheap at the minute, but I must get an XM first!

Beautifull Model - I loved the fact they had switches's everywhere, and TALKED!

I look forward to it very much. Like the XM's ZF box, the 25 Auto box wrote most of them off... Not sure if it was Renaults Own box, or ZF's, but being Phase 2, should she be the 4 speed? Or still the last of the 3 speed??

I concur. The one feature missing from an XM, is talking, it just looks like it needs to have it. I like the 25, but the XMs a lot more futuristic looking, it looks like the one that should talk...

I do believe the old 80s Nissan Laurels talked as well.

Could you imagine what it would be like if your XM talked to you.

ABS defective, front right side lamp defective, rear tail light defective, and so it goes on, and on

Plenty of modern Renaults still talk, the Vel Satis being one of them. She's really dramatic as well! If the pressure drops even slightly in a tyre she swoops into action "Front left tyre, pressure abnormal, slow down!" SHUT UP!!

Pretty sure it's the last of the 3 speeds, which is a shame. And yes, exactly, the auto box was the achilles heel of the R25, lets hope this one is ok.
