The one in the glove box is the DVD player and the one on the drivers side is the sat nav.

Thanks, Dean. The sat nav screen seems a bit tiny. What's its size?

Different sizes available. Mine is 154 x 87 x 177 mm.
The smallish 3 to 4 inch sizes I haven't seen here in Japan.
My Kenwood hybrid HDD is like this:

I was going to get one of them Jan, ive seen them in imported cars for years and they are rather cheap now but they will not fit in a MK1 XM due to the stereo positioning and the cover flap as well.
They are good though, i fitted one for a friend and that was touch screen control with DVD, CD, TV, and radio reception, not technicaly legal in this country though, the position my DVD player isnt legal but nevermind.

Dean - be aware that wagon drivers are getting prosecuted and getting TV's etc. confiscated if they can see them whilst driving. It's only a matter of time before the bobby's start on car drivers if they haven't already!

Oh they have started already, you are right it should be out of the drivers view, so the only place it can be fixed is in the back :) , unfortunatly my mrs doesnt sit in the back and when im waiting i dont want to climb into the back to watch a film so it hides in the glovebox, when we went to scotland or Ireland my mrs would watch a film or 4 on the way but now we would have to be very carefull.

Prehaps you should get her to sit in the back! The rear seating in an XM is a very very comfey place to sit. Ive sat in the back of a couple and the rear seats are much more comfey then the front ones, though the fronts are also very comfey... ;)

she hates the back seat, bit of a travel sickness thing, besides ive had enough of stupid laws, if i become so stupid that i start watching tv whilst im driving then i hope to hit a tree and die in a fireball so as to remove my self from the public highway ;)
