Central Locking Remote & Receiver

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

why would all the blips work with any reciever? surely thats not much of an anti theft device John

Look like interesting finds, my XM will still not code another blip, i tried with your instructions but still nothing.

An ORIGINAL Mk.1 XM Reciver will NOT take a programming... prehaps its the IR2 reciver.

I read through Johns write up above but got lost half way through about which was what did what with which.... :? :? :)

i want to know where the Nos reciever is from, it seems all MK1 Xantia's and most IIR Xms use Keiker IR2 which is why the XM single button blip codes to a xantia, they are the same reciever, i just want to know why the reciever in the xant will take to a new blip but the exact same reciever in the xm wont, when i track down a new reciever i will fit that to the xm and see if i can code a pair of single button blips to it so i can have a spare as with no blip there is no alarm.

Mind you ive got a RF set upstairs with remote start that will work nicely in the Auto XM, hit the button as i get out of bed and walk out to a defrosted warm car. i will haveo decide while she is off the road for the summer.

Its what I thought then Dean It HAS to be the ECU under the passenger seat in Xantias then!!

I nearly said this but wasn't sure... The Xantia has a Twin Plug box under the passenger seat that controlls the indicators etc... Its NOT all controlled by the box next to the Hand brake in Xantias

ah yes BUT as far as i understood IR2 was meant to be recodable, the xm has IR2 so should be too, now you are confusing me  are you on about the box under the carpet in the passenger footwell?

Hi Paul, Dean

Not at all sure what I have done to get this result.
Kit I have used.

Qty 3 new Kiekert IR2 receivers (made 2001) - all worked with Mk1 Xantia 2 button plips (Qty 2).
- these also worked with late Mk1 XM plips (Qty 2).

I also tried secondhand allegedly good set of Neiman G012 IR plips and receiver with not success.
These were IR1 hard coded items and the code numbers on the stickers do not match.

I also found a few more IR single button plips that were transmitting but got none of these to work any of the receivers.

It is just possible that my temporary wiring is bypassing the security coding.
Cannot see how but think it would be best to continue testing IR kit on genuine unaltered Mk1 XM or Xantia wiring.
Not something I have access to.

I am happy to parcel up the 3 receivers and the 4 plips (2 Xantia, 2 late Mk1 XM) and send them to one of you.
If it produces a Mk1 working set to send on to David then you can keep the rest.

Let me known if your want to take this on.

John

If it helps with testing I'm quite happy to try the receivers/remotes in the Series 1 that I'm looking for one for.

Mines got a receiver in it at the moment and it's also got a strange PCB stuck to a keyring with batteries in it that seems to lock the car.

My original idea was to transplant this into a casing but they're completely different unfortunately.

DavidH

I will carry on with the testing here for the present.
I want to take record photos as well as notes of the testing before I pass on the IR kit.
I have no personal interest long term in any of the IR kit so one set can come to you.
One of the things I lack at present is wiring diagrams for anything other than XM's.
If someone could just check and list the wiring of the receiver plug in an Xantia Mk1 that would help no end.
I am expecting all similar age PSA cars to have a 5 pin plug (probably black) with only 4 wires fitted.
Then just check which pins are 12 volts and Earth. I expect these to be the outer two pins.
This wil confirm that all PSA IR systems are physically interchangable and wired the same.
