Hollow drive shafts?! Cor blimey!
Need some advice really. Am I being too sentimental in thinking that scrapping the XM is such a bad thing? Don't get me wrong, it's not what I'm into at all (although I had no compunction over the Xantia to be honest) but I can't see anyone taking it on, especially when you consider that to make it 'proper' nice you're looking at a new door to remove dent, a respray on the two that were replaced, a possible re-jigging due to the same two doors having dropped, a new auto box, midly damaged sills, a broken nose cone, a very tatty and ideally needs replacing front bumper, a dodgy ABS.
Even if I give it away, it's going to be a lot of work and money to get her looking nice and I'm not convinced that'll happen, which means I'm putting off the inevitable. If I put her on ebay then I'll doubt she'll go for much and someone else will get the £s for all the bits whereas I could do with the cash myself to put towards my BXs.
I don't know, I really don't know. If she was a good example then I'd go out of my to make sure she went to a good home. If she was a Gold Ph 1 or 1.5 then I'd likely do the job myself for a keeper but it's gonna be one hardcore enthusiast to see it through to a restoration
