Battlescar - now scrapping 2.1 TD Mk 2 Auto

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Oh God Robert I couldn't just weigh her in, blimey no. Cash aside the parts are too 'exclusive' (please pardon the pun) to just bin her. I was lucky enough to help save a BX 16v last weekend. I actually wanted parts off her but promised the owner I'd try and sort her out. It was merely a low LHM level that prevented the front end from rising. Otherwise he was going to scrap it, but, even though I'm without the bits I wanted, I have a deeper satisfaction that she didn't go to the crusher, which I really like.

That's why I feel so bad about the XM, but, even finances aside, I just don't have the time. But, she really is at the dog end. People who want an XM (or any car this age really) want minters (or dogs for parts) and she needs too much to be a minter me thinks.

Please please advise me on the parts to keep. I know thats sounds a bit daft but otherwise I'll get carried away and save EVERYTHING which being brutal I can't do. for example - the dash - bin or keep? I rekon bin. Glove box? Bonnet? etc etc

Bolt on panels, switches, Hydro stuff, ECU's, subframes, engine, lights, suspension tops and struts anything unusual to an Xm.

Unless the interior is special or immaculate let it go.

fair play, it hurts when people just buy em and break them for profit.
sorry to hear that you can't keep the car, but i hope that it works out in the end.

Hi Neil,

Stick up a breaking advert.

But I'd keep everything except body panels (unless your Dad needs any) and the autobox and engine block.

Depending on the rest of the car, and how much space you have available you should have a lot of good stuff for the other Xm.

Thanks guys. I imagine this is almost what it feels like to put an animal to sleep :(

I'd best get on with it. Paul, Mr Messerscmit (sp?!) has expressed engine intrest too, so as he was first then he can 1st refusal. Also, he mentioned an interest in the leather but not sure if he wanted the leccy armrest, let me know MO.....

The rear subframe is not a problem Paul.

Anytakers on the Exclusive Alloys (assume tyres are shot)?

MO/Paul when do you think you would come down?

Geoff

I would like the engine/box and leather (depending on price for leather). Don't want the leccie arm rest, but would like the cover. Is it possible to get the leccie seat wiring too.

There are probably other bits I would like too. Which would include the spare wheel if it is a steel with a tidy 195 or 205 tyre, the engine ancillaries (fuel pump, alternator, starter, hydraulic pump).

I might arrange a shiply collection rather than come down as I am busy this month with holidays and trips up north. I guess you have an engine hoist there

Otherwise, I'd pop down one evening with the box trailer, which would just about take the engine/box. I'd bring my engine hoist.

Is it Bosch or Lucas btw?

Dman,

Image

I actually have two sets, but I'm not 100% sure about selling one of them, so short term I'll hold on to them.

Anyway, it's the Late S2 Exclusive that are for sale with knackered tyres (there may be some mileage in one or two but assume all are due for replacement)
The other set are the S1 Alloy (top right) but as I don't see these very often and really do like them, then I'll save them for now.

MO, engine and box ok (but remember I'll take the turbo off). Leather fine, happy to remove the seat adjustment looms but don't have the heated looms as the car never had them (thus, now I think about it, I can't confirm if any seat heating works at all) I have Xantia front heated seat switches though which I *think* are the same. You are welcome to those if I can find them.

On the arm rest - I think Paul shouted first about that one, so on that basis I'll offer Paul 1st refusal. My apologies if that isn't ideal but just trying to be fair.

fuel pump, alternator, starter, hydraulic pump no problem and it's a Lucas Epic. Will you need the throttle pot, air temp sensor, ECU and loom to go with it?

I do have the spare, tyre has plenty of tread but will need remounting as it has a slow puncture (no damage or nails etc, just think the gloop has failed). Tyre is a budget - 195/65. Wheel has the square shoulders to take the alloy wheel bolts.

I do have a hoist - thanks for thinking of that. I also have a trailer and can fit all that in, so if you want delivery then let me know and I'll see if I can help.

Hi neil...

Anytime they are ready.. Id do what I did before and make it a day trip....

Subframe and Arm rest would be good, and if M/O doesn't want the leccy arm rest.. then ok..

Let me know when your ready and Ill sort it out with myself.. Alloys MAY be interest.. but it depends what the balance history is on them... these S2 alloys dont balance easy as you know...

Cheers
Paul

Hi Neil,

What are the body panels on this one like? Did I read somewhere that it is silver? The front drivers side wing may be of interest.
