Battlescar - now scrapping 2.1 TD Mk 2 Auto

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

I might want the height selector knob and underside sliders mechanism, if they can be taken off readily.

Good morning,

Are the front sidelights in good condition? I have a Ph1.5 so I think they are the same fitting?

Also does the car have black rubbign strips with the chrome insert? A couple of mine have corrosion under the plastic and could really do with replacing.

Kind regards,

J

One of the side lights is cracked - not sure about the other - I'll check for you.
All the side mouldings are colour coded and the chrome is all terrible, although it's been covered up with aluminium tape

Well one of mine is missing completely, the other is a fetching shade of magnolia with a few epoxy 'accents', really very very nice!

If you could have a scout for me, that would be ace.

Thanks,

J

Right, the o/s has a small crack in it - a 3 line crack about 5p in diameter. The n/s looks ok but it's difficult to see with the car in it's current position. I will let you know when I have moved her for dismantling - approx 5 days

Neil. Please please can you rescue from the bottom of the auto box the "magnet" that sits inside the drain lid.... Its the circular one with three 10mm bolts.. Of course you will have to drop the gearbox fluid... Sorry.... My mates 2.1 tds autobox magnet is missing...

Cheers
paul

by the way.. The height mechanisem lever is remove from inside the car 3 ten mm bolts or so iirc... It then slips off a single roller which originally helped with the smooth operation of the lever... Its a bit of a complex thing really..... .. All done inside the car! ! Nice and easy!!

I did, but went underneath yesterday and sorted the seized sliders. I thought the pin to lever joint was loose, but it wasn't, just the mech. was very seized and bent.

I've now broken the slider knob on the second car, so if yours is perfect I would be interested, as they are never as good glued.

Hi,
Thanks for the info Paul on the height selector lever - saves me head scratching :P I'll also sort out the magnet of the auto box- draining it is no problem.

D'man, My lever/knob is good, so yes, I'll take it off for you, no problem.

I'll have a good look round the car today and list some other items that may be of interest - if only to save them.

Interior plastic bits needed?
ECUs?
Air bags and their bits?
Carpet set?
Bonnet?
Later type airbag-style-glovebox?
Steering column?
Sterring Column stalks?
Door lock mechanisms?
Boot lock mechanisms?
