4HP20 Autobox wanted URGENT!

Hello XM owners!

I'm a complete 406 Coupe fan and have noticed that we share the same autobox - I am desperate to locate a 'known' autobox. But want it really quickly!

I'm usually on the www.406coupeclub.co.uk forums so I'm not here to time waste - really need to get my French wheels going agian - as I am going to France next month!

Hi

Firstly give the frenchcarforum a go, there is a guy there that knows the boxes inside out.
Also be carefull where you source your box from too, i dont think the XM will fit as if the gear ratio's are different the boxes ecu will flag a fault and go into limp mode, i think because the box monitors engine rpm it crossrefrences it with the diff speed and if it doesnt see the rpm it expects at the diff for the given engine speed and gear selection/lockup it gets unhappy so watch out.

ive no idea if this is the same gear box as the one your after, but im breaking a "s" xm 2.0 turbo estate with a auto box in.

Hi Remy

The only XM that got the 4HP20 ecu controlled box was the 24v esj V6, all other Xm's got the hydro mechanical 4HP18q autobox.
