1992 Série 1 2.0si, repair or spares

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

1992 Série 1 2.0si, repair or spares

Post by hayamburuk » Tue Jun 28, 2011 10:24 am

Hello everyone

Here is my beautiful white Citroen XM 2.0si from 1992.

I am the third owner, the second owner had her for 17 years and replaced the engine, so even though the car has about 190,000 miles in her, the engine only has 45,000.

"J" registration

All electric items working (seats, windows, sunroof etc)

The condition is fair, though no way showroom or concours.

No MOT and no tax, the car is on SORN so you'll have to pick it up.

There is a hydraulic problem, when the car is left overnight the LHM leaks out. I think a new pump and accumulator sphere are needed. When topped up with LHM, the car rises and works properly so it can be driven.

I would fix the car myself, but I have run out of storage space, the car is at an impatient friend's house and needs to go. I do not want to scrap my lovely XM, this is the car which took my wife and I on our honeymoon. We are expecting a baby, so any respectful contributions over one hundred pounds for the car would be much appreciated.

If I hear nothing I will put the car on Ebay

Sorry to hear that you are parting company with your Xm, but to help potential buyers, where is the car located?

Regards

Hi Dean

Still quite handy.
Perhaps it needs booking for an MOT with my man near Fareham then continue to the ferry.

I have to say i would be buying it to break as i just could not afford to make it road legal and get it back over here without selling the Activa , it is close though and has made me think.

To the O/P

does the car have A/C, (im thinking not) Also is it auto?

The real shame is if its a manual 2.0i with Bosch injection its going to be damn rare, forget your 2.1's, they are ford focus's in comparison, and it would be good for 47mpg ;) , And being £150 it would be financialy viable to save it too...... :?

In your dreams. My 2.0Si manual was in the low 20's fuel consumption and slow to boot..

No dream Will mine will do 40mpg on a run and thats Auto with a moggy, and faster than a 2.1, the magnetti ones were slower and thirstier and the carbed ones much more so again.

all in all there were 5 2.0i 8v engines ranging from 100 to 130bhp this one for sale will be the later i would think.
EDIT..........typo on the mpg i was supposed to put 44mpg not 47 (just checked the official figures)

I got 45mpg from my 2.0 Si manual driving it the length of Ireland at 60mph constant and not stopping.

The white 2.1 Manual got the same fuel consumption on a similar trip at a constant 75mph this past weekend.

yeah i think the official figures for the 2.1 were 57mpg@56mph.
Looking at the specs why the hell was there a 2.1nasp engine? it didnt get the economy of the turbo unless doing the urban runs and with a 0-60 of 17sec it must of been awefull.
