Wanted: Remote Central Locking box and plip

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Wanted: Remote Central Locking box and plip

Post by red_dwarfers » Sat Jul 09, 2011 3:44 pm

After carefully resoldering joints on the plipper I have come to the conclusion that I'm going to need to look into getting a new black box and plipper set to get the RCL working again.

I have an aftermarket kit on the Xm and the cx and they work great.
Damn site cheaper than getting new one or a matched set!

Cheers Dave, I'll stick that in the favourites list. I'm a sucker for keeping things original though so I leave it a while before I go down that road.

I like original, but all I can say is good luck with finding a set!
I think it would be easier to buy an aftermarket set and try and wedge it in an old style plip :?

Kev

What blip setup is it? R/F or I/R and what blips does it take? this may not be as hard as you think.

Terry, that does sound promising, If I remember correctly the box in question does have two sockets with around that number of pins. I'll pop out and check in a minute. If so, I'm sure we could strike a deal :)

Its for a R/F setup, what do you mean by the second bit Dean?

Kev a lot of other cars use these recievers and blips, if you go to your local scrappy and pinch a new reciever you can code any plip to it, not the end of the world, even cars with different plip styles actualy use the same reciever so its not that hard to find what you need.
