Looks nice but I think he is a bit optimistic about the orice when you see what wants doing to it.

Ok, well perhaps I do

Been out in the workshop this evening stripping a 'spares' 4HP20 I got hold of for £30 to see if it will donate parts for the XM. So far it looks good...

Wish the LT71141 ATF didn't stink so, makes me feel a bit groggy

Saw the ebay adv this morning.
Car is close to me but thought the price incedibly optimistic for the described condition.
Might just take a look later in the week if I get time.

Dean is our 4HP18 man and I'm the 4HP20 one.. I know nothing about any other autobox...

It does seem a bit heavy for a battered car with a shot sill.

So whats an auto adaptive box?? HP22?? Or is the 20 the adaptive box and the 18 the "mechanical" one...

So whats the other 4 speeder from 305/BX/405/ZX days? HP 14?

A somewhat optimistic price given the cars overall condition. Could be a nice enough project for someone if it was cheap enough.

It's not just the reliability that puts me off its the increased fuel consumption and the fact that it screams to over 2000 rpm before it changes up.
