no, it has never had one - seriously! It has a cubby hole in the centre console.
My green S2 had one and my maroon S1 had one and the blue S1 petrol had one but the SX doesn't have one at all and has never had one. I'll take a pic or two to show you - but the centre console is unmolested from new and has a cubby hole where the keypad would be.

It is great just jumping in, turning the key and going ... Povo spec is great.

Oh, and I'm back after a couple of months away.

I agree that some early XM model's were built without keypad immobiliser.

it isn't early, it's an S2 from 1994. It has the alarm but no keypad. You're just spoiled by exclusives and vsx models.

Its easy to fit a new cubby hole thing instead of a keypad Cambpell! I have done it before a few times!

There is no hard and fast rule about immobilisers though. Mechanical Bosch cars I have had haven't had them. But 2.5s and Lucas Epics do with their electronic pumps and many petrols cars have 'em too.

I bet if we looked at my car's build spec - we'd not find an immobiliser keypad installed. I'm prepared to bet money on it.

Mine is a mechanical Bosch SX car, the simplest, easiest, less prone to failure XM. (oh, and it's a manual car too)

You have ANSWERD our questions.....! A mechanical TD Bosch Cars DO NOT have keypads... My mate has a 2.1 TD S2 with Bosch, and theres no Keypad..

I wasn't looking at your Signiture, and assumed a Petrol Injection car was yours...

So there we have it.... Bosch car, so NO keypad.. :D
