North East Vintage Car Club (Ireland) - Mosney show
Hi folks,
Robert and I, and some other friends attended a car show last weekend, down in Mosney.
There was some very interesting stuff there, some very old vintage stuff, as well as many very clean 'modern' classic cars.
We displayed our series 1 XMs, Roger his BX, and another guy named Brendan, his cool wee Lomax
Here's just a few pics, guess we should start with the Citroen stuff...
Roadworks and traffic, usual shit on the way to Dublin!
Funky new bridge on the motorway, just a pity the lampposts look a bit bent :
Our cars (two XMs, a BX, and a Lomax kitcar based on a Dyane):
Lunch!:
Lomax:
Outta time?
Not a Mr. Fusion in sight!
Should hear the sound of this thing....
Don't see many of these now:
Nice Saabs
Some beetles for good measure
Tidy Mini engine bay:
Studebaker
Can you spot what's wrong with this picture?
Alpine:
This was class:
Haven't seen a clean standard one of these in ages:
A non-rusty one of these is an achievement, AND its the Vanden Plas model I'll have you know!
VTEC just kicked in yo
Don't see many of these now:
WTF?

Interesting pictures Ciarán; that's a real menacing looking car from this angle - the one's with the funny doors look nice too!Ciaran wrote:
There's a weird passing similarity between the Xm and the DeLorean as if they were from the same stylist!!

I thought that as well Andrew. The early shots of the rear really show the similarities around the rear lights.
Some stunning cars there Ciaran you must have had a great day and the weather looked good as well. Thanks for sharing.

.
Very interesting, definately something for everyone at that show.
Thanks for posting the pictures Ciaran.
Nice to see the DeLoreans, I think they look more impressive now than they did when they were in production.
My favourite has to be the Aston Martin Lagonda.......after the XM's of course
What's the metalic grey/green car with the reg no. C7 GTA and the odd wiper arrangement? I don't think I've seen one before.

That's a Renault/Alpine GTA - shares the same 90 degree V6 as the Xm only the motor is mid mounted in a glassfibre bodyshell!

I nearly mentioned it earlier as I quite like them. It's been commented in the past mind that the odd 12v and 24v Xm has
been sacrificed by the lads with these GTA's so whilst I like the idea of them they're potentially another reason v6 Xm's
are being culled...

One on ebay going through shortly:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1989-RENAULT-GTA- ... 1|294%3A50
Oh yes, I forgot - they were turbo'd. Imagine an Xm 24v v6 with a turbo, hmmmmmmm...

Thanks Andrew.
Very surprised to find that it's French, I thought it was American.
Looks quite nice, but I still think the wipers are a bit odd.
Paul.

Funny really when I realise of course that the Delorean had the SAME base PRV V6 engine as the Renault GTA
AND THE XM!! Almost half sisters and all with an odd family resemblence!
