Citrotec or Bristol 2cv?

Hi all,
now that i've acquired a citroen i'm on the look out for specilaist in Bristol and have been on the good garage scheme website and two have come up Citrotec and Bristol 2cv anyone had any experiences with these? i believe Bristol 2cv have very good name in citroen cirlces?

Since moving to Bristol and leaving my Citroen mechanic of 12 yrs back in Winnersh , it would be nice to be able find a specialist locally just in case.

rang http://www.chandlermotorcompany.co.uk/ and they qouted me £350-£400 for a clutch change. sounds about right what do you think and their round the corner from me

i would use tony weston but are really are too far away and no way of getting home

That does sounds about right.
If a full 3 part clutch is fitted that will cost about £130-£150 trade, the rest is labour.

The job isn't actually too bad as the gearbox stays in the car, just gets moved sideways. They will need to remove the LHM tank for access to the gearbox mounting, so ensure they know how to bleed the hydraulics and brakes on completion of the job.

I've used Bristol2cv for a few years now and Mannie is good for letting you know what is wrong, giving you a good estimate and fixing it. He used to have a 2.1D XM so he knows these cars.
He'll also let you know if he thinks a job is not worth doing!

and a big plus for me is that it is in Bristol and not far from home.

When the car was newer I used to use AP Autocare in Bedminster who did a good job, but they have become more expensive of late. They still have some old staff who understand XMs though. I always found them good for MOTs as they understood the percularities of the hydraulics and brakes and were a little more lenient than some places.

Never use Citrotec or Citroen City.

Thanks steve, i've been warned off citroen city before, so have you had a bad experience with citrotec which is also called chandlers motor group? i have thought about bristol 2cv's as they quite popular and famous? i will give them a call.
