Last week I fell over the trolley jack and broke my ankle.

Yes, I know, it's the first time in years I forgot to remove the handle, wont forget again. I don't have the final cast on yet but the nurse at our local hospital told me that some people do drive with their foot in plaster. Has anyone on the forum done this and would you recommend it?

It's ok, you can laugh as well. Kit

I've got a not so nice 2.1 Auto you could have so you can drive one legged...but the gearbox would really need fitting into your car...

It's the right foot that's the problem, and I would rather crawl on my hands and knees for six weeks than ruin a lovely manual XM by fitting a an auto box! I am sure Peter would agree! But thanks for your sympathy. Kit

Hi Kit
Sorry to hear about your ankle.
Tell them that you want to drive before they finally plaster you up.
Mark the actual pedal spacings on a sheet of paper to take with you.
It may just make a difference in how they shape the cast that is put on.

All is not lost then, fit and auto box and cruise control to act as a hand throttle, and left foot braking, job done!

Sorry to hear about that Kit. I thought I might have joined you a couple of weeks ago when I fell about seven feet through the roof of my wood shed, landed on my back though. Hope you are recovering well. I think the police might take a dim view of your driving in a plaster cast - as might your insurance company, must be very frustrating though.

Trying out the old Santa suit again?, bit early in the year for that sort of carry on mind.
Hope your feeling ok anyway, its one hell of an impact to come from that height onto your back Peter!
