Selling off one (or bits

) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

My wiper motor has been very sluggish, I checked under the scuttle cover and found this:
Anyone got a spare in good working order? I understand that one off a Xantia can also be used? Can you replace just the motor or does it have to tbe the whole linkage?

I`ll have a spare one later this week - I`ve just got to swap the one in our estate first.
We`re in Glos area.
Cheers

Thank you.
I'm going to the scrapyard in the morning to see if the XM there has one, or a Xantia, if I'm not successful I'll come back to you.

The wiper motor off the scrap XM looks brand new. Must have been replaced in the cars lifetime so gonna try fitting that and see how I get on.

Mine all look like new and are 20 years old. Yours must have had water leaking onto it at some stage.

From what I remember of the last look in my XM scuttle area the wiper motor is enclosed in an elasticated? heavy duty plastic 'bag' to protect it from the worst of the elements.

Yeah mine was in one of these bags too...I originally thought I'd discovered something hidden in the scuttle panel!
Nevertheless it was still rusted to buggery so water must have been getting in somehow. I'm going to spray some waxoyl on the new one before putting the bag on as an extra precaution.
