Dynastarts

Post by Kit » Fri Oct 07, 2011 5:11 pm

This is definitely off topic but maybe at least Messerschmitt Owner will know what I am talking about. I have a Dynastart complete with control box from a small marine generator, circa 1995 which was only used for a few months before it was scrapped. Does anyone know if there is a demand for these things and any idea of their value? Kit

Not much, but try ebay as someone may have a requirement.
Is it in good working condition as the insulation has a habit of breaking down, especially if there has been any oil leaking into the unit.

Ebay is a good idea --I'd try it in the boaty parts section. Also perhaps worth an ad in the Staionary Engine magazine -- could very much be a piece suitable for a display engine. You already know what it's worth -- what someone will give for it !

Good luck with it.

Kit

the early dinnae starts (as we call them in Scotland) are worth quite a bit!

I see the marine ones on Ebay every so often at about £30 or so - some more, but never much less.

They're a pretty reliable and simple bit of kit that can be worked on by an idiot like me.
