XM prices

Post by Dieselman » Sun Nov 06, 2011 7:54 pm

I've been looking at prices of Xm the last few days and think they definitely show signs of being higher than previously, what are your observations/thoughts?

Well i would deffinatly say they are on the up, i dont know if you have noticed but there is most certainly a market for good clean well cared for examples regardless of spec/engine. Pups seem to sruggle to make any money but they do sell, so much different to a few years ago when the pups didnt sell and were scrapped while the good ones made maybe £500 -£800 tops.

What did you buy yours for Will?

My pups or the decent one.

The pups were £270 each delivered but one is likely to be broken and the other needed head gasket and other work. The decent one was £750 but stands me to a lot more than that now.

The most cost effective one is the Cobalt one, I could actually sell it for a profit I think..though am likely to do the spheres this week, so maybe not...

Prices are on the up.

Rough cars aren't as cheap as what they used to be, but then scrap prices aren't what they used to be either. Supply of rough cars is slowing, but I suspect there will be a boost of them soon when many owners can't be bothered with big welding bills for MOT.

Really good clean cared for cars do seem to have a bit of a market, but there is still a skew towards top spec cars rather than the mid to lower spec cars. WHM have had that 40K black TCT for sale for a long time now, and I don't think the price is too unreasonable for what it is either.

well i paid £900 for mine as a low miles one owner off the forecourt car about 8 years ago and i think i could make that again very easily but then like yours Will it owes me more than that.

I think xm prices will steadily rise and like you say Robert in a few years when the rust has killed 50% of whats left now the prices will be going up even faster.
