After Andrew put the backdoor links up I popped over last night and had a look around. It's weird, like the Marie Celeste.

Everything's still there just like we were all still logging on. It would be nice if it came back to life but I can't see it after all this time. I don't think the webmaster wanted it back, it was a convenient way to go out. Noz always managed to get it back before and I'm sure he could have done it again. I hope I'm proved wrong but somehow I don't think so.

2.5td......Now sold.

To be fair, the links menu is thanks to a post from Assich - I've posted links to specific posts etc before.
I can't stand seeing all that hard won experience and pure gold advice sitting there hidden away.
I still like reading through articles there regularly - like the format/appearance too.

I've been on there myself today.
I was looking for lez's well illustrated guide to timing belt replacement.
I found it but it was for the 2.1, not the 2.0turbo. Never mind, if I'm successful with the 2.0turbo I'll have a go at the 2.1 next.
This is the thread I was looking for.....
http://club-xm.com/forum2/index.php?sho ... iming+belt
I think it's far more useful than the Haynes manual........and it's free.
It is also a reminder of the sort of valuable information we'll lose if/when the old forum goes down completely, and permanently.

Thanks Dean.
If you can spare the time it would be much appreciated.
I was intending to get pictures as the job progressed, they're always usefull for future reference.
Paul.
ps. in case it's of interest to anyone, Lez also did a guide to installing a pc in an XM......the monitor fits neatly into the centre console (looks good).......however, I think technology has overtaken him - if you have £350 to spare, you can get an iphone that'll do as much.......and it fits in your pocket.......
