Albeit on later S2 TD2 engines... The TD1 non intercooler lumps were fine..robert_e_smart wrote:The porus block was only a problem on the CX diesel engines.
I don't think Citroen would give a hoot about people trying to fit a CX engine into a DS. The reason the engine rotated the other way is becasue the DS engine is mounted back to front.marc61 wrote:Yes the CX engine is essentially the same 5 bearing engine that went in the DS from 1966 on, but with a longer stroke, slightly different pistons to get it from 2347cc to 2500cc and it rotated the other way (presumably to stop people fitting CX engines to DSs).
but before that.. the 168bhp was pre intercooler years and just a small turbo.. then the t2 was a bigger turbo plus an intercooler which resulted in an un publishised 200bhp!!!marc61 wrote: but then they turbocharged it to 168hp which was big improvement.
