My car is well known on the frenchcarforum, and its journey can be seen in my blog "Vince's VSX / Pallas Auto Refinishing". The car will be available to buy at the tail end of July as until then i am still paying insurance on it and its still in use. I only do about 5K miles a year in it as my wife doesnt drive and i have a van for work everyday. Some of you may have seen the car at certain CCC events, but for those of you who dont its as follows:
1995 Xantia TD VSX, Mauritious Blue. (Tax due at the end of August 2012. MOT Feb 2013)
Mileage 146K (Ready for another 146K)
Service History - For the last 4 years of ownership regularily serviced and maintained using only OE (Original Equipment Quality) filters, oils and parts by a Citroen Independant specialist - Paris Autos in Stockport.
Body - Very good condition with no obvious dents or scratches. See pictures below.
Wheels and Tyres - Refurbed wheels fitted when i bought it and still 99% perfect (to my standards) Tyres - Fronts Bridgestones (good tread) and Rears Michelins (ready for replacement, though i could do this if it was a problem)
Brakes - Calipers are all free and work fine. Front discs and pads are ready for changing, rears are fine...i can do the brakes at GSF cost anyway but its only ever had brembo discs and bendix pads on it whilst its been mine...and they are still stopping it today and were fitted on 98K miles i think it was.
Interior - Very clean and tidy, Beige Leather seats front and rear, centre armrest front and rear, VSX checked door panels, beige and blue. Electric sunroof, and windows front and rear, Heater works fine although can be slow to change from hot to cold...but it does.
Suspension - Both height correctors tested and Ok'd as perfect operation 2 weeks ago at Paris Autos, New front Anti Roll bar bracket fitted at same time (Genuine new Citroen part) LHM change is due, but it doesnt use a drop between changes. Rear Hydractive electrovalve suspected internally leaking but this has been like this for 2 years and you can live with it, The hydractive system still works as normal Every sphere has been changed including accumulator and anti sink and both front and rear hydractive spheresand ride quality is great. Rises and falls nicely and quickly as it should. Drops links, wishbone bushes and ball joints have all been replaced.
Strut tops - Drivers side will need replacing i think for its next MOT which im sure is FEB 2013. Passenger side is ok. Both are still deemed as safe and solid...they just look tatty underneath. Either way, from day 1 of me owning the car they have been regularily waxoiled ontop and underneath and kept that way

Exhaust - Centre pipe replaced earlier this year, Back box last year. Both are solid and will last ages.
Electrics - Windows and sunroof all work as new, all other electrics, lighting, engine bay etc work perfectly. Remote locking stopped a while ago but the fob is fine and i still have that. I dont know electrics much so just started using the key...its never been looked at...i just checked the main fuse and it was ok, so just started using the key. The alarm system was deactivated when i bought it and still is. Im not a fan of car alarms as they dont stop cars being stolen so have never bothered to look into that either.
Engine - Perfect! Uses no oil or water (ever it seems), power is clean and easy, the top end was fully stripped and rebuilt by Paris Autos at 112K miles when the head gasket went. Every part fitted was OE quality and the following was replaced.
- Head gasket
- Rocker gasket
- Valve stem seals
- Cam seals
- Glow Plugs (though one is slow in the morning and needs replacing i think)
- Water Pump
- Cambelt kit...thats tensioner and idlers aswell

- Ribbed belt (alternator)
- Ribbed belt tensioner
- Oil change and filter
- Cooling system flushed, cleaned and refilled with correct coolant
- Valve clearances checked and complete engine inspection and test done.
Yes it cost a fortune but its been worth it

Transmission: Last service i had the gearbox oil replaced by a VW garage. Beforehand it was like new..super smooth change etc. Literallty the day after the change it has been "sticky" for the first half a mile or so and then its back to super smooth...i suspect they have used cheap transmission oil, but the box is perfect with no noises etc. Shafts and joints are all bob on as are the joints and boots.
Cooling system - Radiator and hoses are great, both cooling fans and motors have been replaced (Thanks Rich), fuses and relays all work fine, Thermo switch has been replaced but i will be replacing this again as the fan is kicking in a tad sooner than usual....it can only be the switch as everything i have checked and its all ok. By early i mean at around 90 degrees rather than 92.
Other info:
You can read my blog if you want, but because im honest, one important thing to mention is that it was rear ended last August, It was CAT C'd due to the cost of the bumper alone from Citroen outweighing its book price, but crucially it was given a full green light by the engineer as no chassis damaged was sustained. I asked him if it was still safe to drive my wife and kids in and he said "absolutely" its just cosmetic damage. A VIC check has been carried out on this car at is passed and i cant see any CAT C notice written on the new V5 i had to get but i wanted to be straight with people

Since then i have replaced the bumper trim and tidied the rear end back up. You cannot tell its been hit unless i pointed it out. Both rear wings were undamaged and as stated, you cant tell its ever been hit unless you know where to look.
The car drives great and looks great. The private plate will probably be removed and its original N plate put back (still have them in the shed)
Ill let the pictures do the talking for anyone who doesnt know my car, and by all means more are available if requested. I run a sideline venture called Pallas Auto-refinishing which speaks for itself as to whats its all about, so whoever buys the car, it will be ready to showfield

Im asking £750 for the car which reflects its condition and specification...its a fair price for one of the best Xantias in the country at the moment.
