Over the past 18 months I've had x7 cars lost/stolen as well as the trailer Paul,
this is just twisting the knife:

x1 CX DTR Safari
x1 s2 Xant V6
x2 Activa s1's
x1 TD Athena estate
x1 Xm 2.5 with 90k miles
x1 mega early s1 Xm and a very sentimentally loaded family car...

yep gone without my consent

Ill still come over and see you on the Friday Paul, see what bits and pieces you have for sale which I might need. :) So I would rather get the rear panel from you, should you have a suitable A1 version, save the risk of posting one etc.

That is a lot of cars lost Andrew, a real shame, no doubt taken straight to the scrapper  :x

Id actually prefer a dark style rear light panel but so long as it all matches in the end, I don't mind. In an ideal world I woul dget one the same as mine but in better condition, so I dont have to change the lights. I do need a bit of body coloured trim/bodywork which goes under the NS rear light.

I have updated the front page and my lists of jobs for the XM, however, after today the turbo is now working and the front end cosmetics have improved. I also did the tracking and got the steering wheel centred.

It was the wastegate lever which had stuck, stuck tight too as it took a lot of force to get it to spring back closed. I spent a long time freeing it off and it works a treat now. Its back to being a TCT again 8-)

Ive been fiddling with bits and pieces on the XM all day, its coming along :)
Chris.

I took the car to Wales for a weeks holiday a few weeks back and then onto Milton Keynes for the DSM. Its done around 2000 miles in about a month and is going fantastically, im using it quite a bit still but its not my daily driver.

I got the cruise control working last week, seemed to be a dirty connection on the electrical supply to the vacuum pump. Another thing off the list.

Its getting there, mechanically its pretty good now, the bodywork is improving and it'll get better in the next few months. I have a replacement passenger door mirror which will be painted when the back corner gets repaired. I have replaced the long lens which covers the reversing lights, fitted the trim which clips under the rear light and that has been painted to match. A few other things to tidy it up.

A few pictures from the other day:

Since then I have removed the flaking and pealing door chrome plastic door strips in favour of the stainless steel kit.

Well done for all your hard work Chris and you are clearly transforming the car! I attach some photos of the 'L' reg. Prestige that I owned until April of last year that was another identical twin! Best regards, Matthew T.

It would be nice if it were mint but its getting better. :) The paintwork is very dull and swirled but it can be sorted with a good machine polish, something which hopefully I'll do in a few weeks. Then its just the dink on the wings to get repaired.
