Wanted a multi pin Drivers window mechanism

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Hi Norman

There are at least two different designs of these 9 pin window regulators.
It is the connecting plug and socket that is different.
Although the pins are the same the polarising slots and locking clips are different.
Early version has Citroen thin spring wire clip on the wiring plug.
Later version has the PSA plug and slide clip (red colour).
Insitu it is very easy to tell the difference because the plug is there.
Removed with only the socket it is very difficult to tell the difference.
If you get the wrong one it is possible to swap the casings.
You have to dissassemble and then rebuild the motor control unit.
Yours will be the later (red plug) version so double check any from pre 1997 XM's.
Not sure on actual change over date so 1996 and late 1995 built may be right.

Hi All,
Removed the mechanism thursday the rain stopped all day and it is the red button one the cable has broken inside the drive wheel reading the instructions in roys kit is seem i need to drill the bolts and the centre pin off sounds complicated so looking for a replacment unit, anybody gote one? i can see this turning into a long job as my main computer also failed the other day and that need sorting, being a computer engineer i know which comes first

Regards,
Norman

Hi Norman

I have a scrap drivers door from a T reg that I need to strip.
The winder in that worked when it came off the car last month.
Will try to find time over the weekend to pull it out the heap and recover the winder.
PM me with your address and an offer for it.

John
