Ok.. back to the topic... Another S1 24v Update..

Managed to find an hour last night, and made a start on cleaning the rear up for welding...

Patch piece "sitting" in place.






Passenger side isnt half as bad and still has pleanty of soild metal to weld to. As for drivers side.. as and when I start...

Yes but slowly.. im convinced now i will not have her ready for iccr at least but gonna try damm hard for cxm though....

At least you got any welding to do like mine... ive got to adress two other areas in the floor too yet as well as a fuel leak behind the rear head...

Fortunately I welded the rear member the w/e before being hit. Good timing or what? Mrs Dm took it for test the next Saturday morning while I was lying in Hosp.

Well, over the last few days, ive managed a bit more, as well as getting Vince's new toy done..

Ive completed the passenger side welding at the rear subframe mount..









Ive also had the subframe mounts cleaned and protected too...






Ive also tonight removed the Air Con compressor to access a Fuel Leak on a rubber hose.

After removing the hose I found it has gone brittle and hard, and it had a tiny split.

So im on the look out for a piece of high heat resistant fuel line..

Well, we have achived it!!

We have gone from this:



to this:









Subframe back on, wheels on, exhaust on and spare wheel carrier on!!

Now, next little bit is a patch needed immediatly below the middle pillar on the inner sill area... right next to the fuel pipes!! :shock: :shock: :o :o :o

But we are winning now!
