What others see in a Citroen XM

Off topic chat about anything you like. Doesn't have to be about XMs (though they will inevitibly come up!). You can even discuss non-Citroens :o in here!

This! D panel gaps are awful - on some cars the panels are touching, and others you can walk through them...

I like the C6's styling - very CX:

I like the look of the CXs, especially the Series 1 GTi Turbos:

Must say I prefer the looks of the CX to the XM - CX is just so much sleeker IMO...

How about something modern - I love my C4 Coupe's styling...

Anyway, sorry for the O/T...

The C6 is great looking car, but IMO it could have been slicker if they productionised the concepts detailing ...particulary the rear lights. they were more slender and a much more satisfying shape.
But it does make a CX look quite small in comparison, and wonderfully proportioned. Love the mk1 GTI pic further back.
Little known fact...or maybe it is known!.....I was told by a Citroen Designer that the DS was meant to have a longer bum, which tapered more than what it actually got. However the styling model, once completed and ready for approval by the board, had to be moved upstairs to a different studio via car lift. Only it didn't fit! So they hacked the back off and quickly reshaped it to fit the lift. And apparently that's how it stayed.

Has anyone else noticed or agree, that apart from the rear of the XM looking like the SM....it also has.. dare I say, a hint of BMW about it. :o
Put my foot in it now!!!

With the top three cars all you would see is their rear ends when you're driving a DS, as all are capable of a much higher speed than a Goddess.
Rear ends need to be seen and not disappear in the far distance in an instance to be appreciated.
But I am sure someone has a better answer.
