Are Ram Bushes still NLA?

Just been enjoying a day under an S2 with cracked feed pipes to the ram and shagged butt end bush. It was hellacious fun to remove the ram - I dropped the HA bloc and also the height sensor pot/bracket.

Have fitted used pipes and used bush, but what is the current thought on replacements - UHMW plastic?

Its under an XM i take it, its a bush, its near the hydractive valve by this it must be the steering ram bush..................I think. And i have no idea if its still available seperatly.

The new job was running a bit slow on work orders, so I stuck my paw up for another day as journeyman mechanic. I'm talking about the bush pressed into the feed pipe end of the PAS ram.

I think I used a bx one not sure though, but i defo used a bush that slotted in the outer metal of the old bush perfectly!

According to Service Citroën, the ram bush changed about RP 7500; they offer the older one (stated 22mm OD) but the newer one is not serviced as a separate part.

I was "recommended" the bush-inside-the-shell repair also; once all detritus was removed from the bearing shell, the new bush was a loose fit. Clearly that wasn't going to work, so I went to Plan B.

Has anyone investigated a cooperative "group buy" on new units?

Given the application you should be able to get away with making up a bush in the same sort of way as I make up substitute Activa ram bushes Addo...

That one is back together and out the way now; what a mongrel job it was, too. P.S. Series 2 (Jn 98) and NO RUST, chaps.

However once we (the collective enthusiast base) have better knowledge about the spec's change mentioned above, there are two smart positions to hold. Firstly to stock up on the still-available bushes, and secondly to dimension a replacement bush for the others.

For a small layer of rubber, it endures a lot of articulation. This surprised me to observe.
