Selling off one (or bits

) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

I'd agree Chris. Overall condition of any XM is far and away more important than what engine/box/interior it has.

Which XMs got the auto-adaptive box then?
Only the S2 V6 fitted with the ES9J4 60 degree V6 as per the Xantia V6...
As far as I know.

Ask Chris if you can have a spin in it on Saturday Chris

It's a car you can easily get very smitten by

If we are talking perfect XMs, mine is perhaps an odd choice! It would have to be a S1.5 2.0TCT Manual in Si spec (I like the cloth XM seats and early style S1 wheel trims, though I might be tempted by a set of speedlines!). Colour, well im not too fussy, I really like the lightish blue colour that was rarely seen on any XM, available in both late S1 and S2s, Xantias also. Balmoral blue or something? My Citroen colour guide has taken itself off somewhere.
I think a version of your perfect XM (or close to it) eluded you recently on Ebay.

Yes, that is just perfect, right colour, right engine, right gearbox and right spec!
I did see that car but was not ready for another XM at the time

It was about then when i got my latest Xantia.

My ideal XM was always a Mandarin red, with those early alloys (Italia i think), spec SEI 2.0l petrol or V6 for the engine. But then my mind changed a little on colour. I like the grey's as the contrast of all the trim and lights is at it's best.
I love the Olympic blue (not the one above), but for some reason, it now makes the car look a bit old?...for me anyway.
I now think the best I have seen and my new favorite, is Sable. Seems to be quite rare on Mk1s.

Sable? Do you have a pic Russ?
I love the colour variation of XMs. I'm always surprised when I see yet another XM colour I haven't known about previously.

I like Olympic blue but yes, it does date the car, its also a very rare colour, in fact im not even sure if I have seen a UK XM in the metal with olympic blue paint.
Is sable the colour of Matthew T's 12v V6 manual? That is a superb colour for an XM
