Well, it's still better than most rental cars that I have driven the last 1o years. It's just too short. It has the lumbar support which the XM doesn't have.

Jim I'd love to have a go in your Activa. Thanks for the offer. :D

Jaap..does this mean i have to find an Irish Activa and have you 'look after it' then!!!

Now that you are all mentioning Xantia seats, magazine reviews of the day were always down on the seat comfort. Road testers could never really get totally comfy. Is it bad seat design, or bad ergonomics???

I'm afraid I have to have a comfy car seat. I have a Peugeot 405 car seat for a desk chair, & it's very comfortable and supportive. A proper desk chair sets my Sciatica off.
French always do great car seats. Japanese the worst.

Couldn't even find a proper HDI here let alone an Activa. Couldn't upkeep it either I guess, not without help. It's not a simple 16 valver I gather. Something is wrong with the opload possibility of pictures today, had a nice picture of talking everybody out of ever buying a citroen if you're not a car electrician..

The image file you tried to attach is invalid.

Seat comfort is a personal thing.
No way can a designers average ever suit everybody.
Deep soft padding was traditionally used to maximise the range of body shapes a seat suited.
Then the accountants and the design consultants came up with the todays rigid, cheap one seat shape fits all offerings.
For Xantia owners that prefer XM front seats these will fit on an Xantia base.

very true John, but it is also down to interior packaging, thin seats mean more space. Also means less comfort. Those stupid customer consumer reviews that never truly give an accurate view of the new design muck everything up too. It's probably down to marketing departments, that think we all want rock hard seats, when actually we want comfort. It's the same with suspension. Why do we need to have every car on sale with sports suspension. We have the worst roads in Europe....apart from Ireland according to Jaap! Makes me quite cross!...the DS5 is a case in point. That should have Hydractive 3+....

But it has a cool interior and very nice seats. Supportive, comfortable and a nice bucket seat.

Last word on seats goes to the XM 8-)

420 miles for the day in mine - Home to Aberystwyth and back. The only car I can do that sort of mileage in without an ache anywhere and feeling quite fresh and relaxed at the end.

My young passengers were very complementary of the ride and seats in the XM :D

I'd love to know how an XM compares to a DS5. Anyone done a back to back test?
