I kind of forgot about the Classic Car show, but in reality events overtook me and there was no way I was going to get a car ready to be displayed.

Was there an XM on the stand?

No, there wasn't

Nor a CX either and I thought that was two terrible omissions. In fact the whole stand was a bit disappointing but that was not entirely the CCCs fault as they had a terrible location - tucked into a tight and dingy corner beside the Practical Classics live stage...

The one bright spot was seeing Chris's (Citroenmad) Activa on the CCC stand.

The CCC this year seemed to go for the rather older stuff and just about the newest bar Chris's Activa was a GS.

What about all the BX's Jim? Was there a good turnout. I thought the BX club was celebrating it's 30th ?

Maybe one day we should rectify this drought of XM's at the NEC, and have our own Club XM stand!

It would have been nice to have an XM on the stand, especially with there being my Xantia on there. I gather there was supposed to be an SM but it dropped out. So we had a H-van firevan, a black DS, GSA and a 2cv Bamboo. Not the most exciting stand and we certainly got given a duff location, however the stand was busy and had lots of interest. I was pleased to hear a few people comment on how nice it was to see a 90's Citroen there, so I'm sure an XM would have been well recieved. Our stand was 4 metres smaller than previous years, so there was not enough space for too many cars. However, if someone wanted to offer their XM for the stand, it could well have been there.

Yes, the BX stand was good, 5 cars in total including the only MK1 BX estate left in the UK. Tims very nicely restored MK1 diesel, a 16TRS estate with only 26K miles, a non turbo diesel red hatch and a very tidy 16v.

The ICCCR recieved the award for best club show this year from the Practical classics people. I think anyway!

Yes. I think Mick was sending out e-mails about that. I can't believe there is only one mk1 BX estate left. that's terrible. I like the early red hatches. There was a lovely one at the ICCCR.
Must go next year. I miss my fix of classic cars!!

Don't think it's the only MK1 Estate left - I know someone that has another...

As with all of these cars, you never can tell how many there are - who knows what people have got hiding in their garage/barn. We just do not know what's out there - there's been a number of cars recently that's proved that rule...

Absolutley Franklin, the recent Talbot Horizon DIESEL on ebay that turned up! DVLA have said None left for the last 4 years!
