XM SED Manual.. This I DO want!!!

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Hi all, i certainly question Paul's comments on fuel consumption. I bought first xm in '96, it was a '92 SED Rotodiesel (Lucas) with BE g/box, a notchy heavy g/box when cold, ok when warm. It was a great car, but had it's ways, rust not the least of them. The Rotodiesel pump was great, smooth, seamless power delivery but i never got more than 850 miles from full brimmed to warning light, this during it's excursions from home to Geneva during the years i was working there. The '95 Exc with Bosch and the '00 VSX with Epic, both auto's, did the same within 10 or 20 miles to Toulouse over the years there. but with cruise engaged the majority of the time, absent from the SED. So, from my experience, not much in it. While plodding the highways and byways here at home, the ability to choose gears certainly helped the odd mile or two to the gallon, but that was about it, all the advantage i would expect over the auto's, regardless of fuel system, cats, egr or cruise.

Well, Ill be making reports when I get my SED manual on the road with Lucas Pump.. not Im a fan of lucas pump.. When I first had her on the road when I got her, I was seeing 45mpg around town type of driving where I leved then. Now I do a 40mile dual carrageway drive every day..

Hi Paul, i work on range to warning light from tank brim, clearly seasonal climate variations influence this but i never bother with mpg for journey's less than a tank fill up, it varies considerably on day to day conditions and whether the fancy takes me for a more "sprited" drive.

Course it does Robert, but of course a Longer steady cruise also stretch's the gallon for the mile too..
