Glove box strut

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

yeah they leak their oil and then the glovebox springs up with a very un swoosh like bang, to be fair mine lasted 20 years before it died.

I suppose the problem is they are almost all the time in a compressed state and the seals do not last for ever! Regards, Matthew T.

Forgive the lack of knowledge when it comes to gas struts, they are filled with oil and gas then?
Only I did think of a solution, one which many have probably already investigated...can you not get them rebuilt. I have found a company which does such a thing.

I believe a few members looked into this before, they are sprung i believe with an oil damper rather than proper gas struts so that should make it easier to re build i would think but a pro would know.
Oh and Russ it was perfect, i have not got time to go back into emails now but it is just what i wanted and go ahead with the order please
