Yes, it was but not just any old car... It was a 24V... That's not 'just a car' Robert

Post it back up Matthew, we haven't finished mourning for it yet...

Coming down to earth, the new pic 4 (interior view) shows electric seats with an extra knob (if you'll excuse the expression!) which must be for lumbar adjustment. I would have liked that on my car, anyone got one? Or it it reserved for LHD only?

Derek, my Prestige has the lumber wheel and that's an RHD one. So I guess on the higher-spec. ones it was available.

Hi Derek,
On series one cars the driver's seat lumbar adjustment like many things was originally just on the V6 24v (l and rhd), but then filtered down to the V6 12v and later to the 2.0 sei and 2.1 sed models.

My 1995 V6-12 had the lumbar support, but my current 2000 V6-24 does not have it.

There´s a champagne V6 in the middle of the photo set. It looks like it has alloys from the later series cars and the plastic trim is colour coded: the mirror and leaf-catcher and the rub-strip are body coloured. Is this an original colour scheme? I thought the champagne colour was phased out after three years and that the colour coding only came in with the Series 2 cars. Since the car was designed to have black mouldings the balance is upset when these "disappear" into the general background.
Here´s mine: http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Community/ ... 4294780806
It´s not the original paint. The new colour is Volvo "Maya Gold"

I think the colour of the car is actually platinum but the light makes it look more gold and the colour coding of bumpers etc. started with the V624v in 1990. The champagne was only available for the first 2-3 years as you suggest and very sadly never an option on the 24v! It would be nice to see some other photos of your car that looks great! Personally I like both trim options, although the effect varies according to the paint colour, for example the earlier charcoal plastic contrasts very little with platinum and similarly black against the darker colours.
