A lot of the 'hard' components of the C6 are shared with the C5 and the Peugeot 407. Apart from trim specific items, I don't foresee any problems with parts supply for at least another 10 years. Buy a C6 now whilst they are relatively cheap. I've got a copy of Practical Classics from 1998. Citroen DS's - £4-5k Citroen SM's £6-7k. And that's good ones!

I would like to think the C6 would get a nice little following and be well looked after in the future. As already stated above, at least with huge component sharing, they have a good chance. the main killer of modern cars are the computers and sensors for everything. C6 wing mirrors are C5 mk1 wing mirrors. Only the revised are different. £700 is outrageous.

A little side note...the used car expert on Autocar, uses a T reg BMW 7 series. Already the tyres are hard to get hold of.

You know, if Citroen were to do a new GS, then to have the same effect, a Subaru flat 4 could work. Just a thought!

That is cheap Paul. Nice example, but it isn't the Exclusive so hence slightly lower price I suppose. The cheapest I have seen is £3K. But it was a fixable write off.

IMHO, the reasons the C6 failed to sell is because the interior isn't classy enough for an executive car and the 2.7hdi simply wasn't powerful or efficient enough so tax and running costs were high.
I think the car should have been 200mm longer and had a larger boot with proper through load facility as well as more rear seat legroom, and where was the estate version. MerBMWAudi sell lots of estates.

They aren't cheap enough. Tax is too dear, not enough 55 plate cars around. Or 3.0 hdis with even cheaper tax than 55 plate 2.7s. I think the 2.7 is OK, could be quicker, its economical enough for what it is. 3.0 hdi would be nice though, 35 more bhp and 250 quid tax and easier on diesel.

Completely agree. However Citroen did introduce the better 3.0 V6 which was much cleaner and cheaper. But...too little, too late. It will go down as a missed opportunity.

Think the Subaru flat four in a GS idea is much more interesting! And about 1000kg less weight than a C6 and a foot narrower! Wonder if the inboard discs would fit.
