That was really great Vince many thanks!! Our family had a R4 in my early childhood that took us all holidaying over the UK, including Scotland, Wales and Ireland. I still remember the reg. that was TWC 373E. I will get a photo from my parents to upload. The senior doctor at our local health centre is also an R4 fan and has a late model recently repainted in bright yellow! Regards, Matthew T.

I'm a massive R4 fan after owning two of them as a teenager. My first was a 1969 model with 6v electrics.. If you think the XM has bad headlights then they're brilliant (no pun intended) compared to 6v R4 ones...

My second was a 1972 one with 12v electrics. It got sandwiched in a crash but it survived and was repaired under the insurance of the person who rear-ended me. The R4 came off best out of the car I was pushed into and the one that ran into the back of me... They're tough old birds...

As a bonus, when they rebuilt the front end they had to install the lights and bonnet from the later model so it had a facelift as well as a repair...

Those two R4s never let me down. Absolutely fantastic cars. Swapped the last one in for an early R5. Another brilliant car - essentially just an R4 in a pretty dress.

That R5 lasted me several years and them it was off to Cyprus for a few years and MG Metros as in those days we had to fly the flag during overseas duty and drive British...

I'll never forget my R4s. Happy memories...

I've only just this moment watched it. It's a brilliant little car. I remember Matthew you saying your parents had one, with a very aerodynamic roof box. :D 8-)

That R5 movie another excellent film, has also influenced me to complete a R5 illustration. Finished today and turned out very nicely too.
Well done Renault for taking the time to make these.
