Well spotted indeed, I will get the car weight off of it tomorrow and take it off for further investigation I did put them on my budget list, how much it is to refurbish them via Kingas? Thanks chaps!

I'm intrigued by that question too. Mine are not at equal heights...the passenger is slightly higher and that is the very good condition one... but not as bad as those two. I did measure the bottom of the shield thing to the base of the strut. Both are the same.

We may have the answer soon, but what I see is that the spheres themselves are different. Meaning different shape, size, manufacturer.

IT LOOKS TO ME LIKE THE COLOURED PANAL ON THE LEFT SIDE JUST ABOVE THE SPHERE HAS BEEN PUSHED DOWN AT SOMETIME. PUSH IT BACK UP INTO SHAPE AND HEY PRESTO......

I am going out there first thing tomorrow to start investigating properly, damn these dark evenings and lack of garage!

I have however been investigation the option of pouring my own top mounts, the sirface preparation is the biggest issue, that and selecting a polymer that does not leach oils after curing. All possible though, I love making things at home!

Oh and tonight I am going out with a torch to check the spheres left and right, see if they are different? that and measure the height of the top cups, see if there is any difference

I see what you mean Jan. although one is more obscured, which could be suggesting it is different.


I thought that about the scuttle panel being pushed down, but they are surprisingly strong. On Turbo_imps car, it looks fine.

Don't put your finger between the sphere and scuttle until you are sure the mount is safe.
