XM hearse, I like the mod to the tailgate, but I can't figure out of it lifts up normally or if it swings out round.

Strange tailgate - it wouldn't have a long enough vertical run on either side for the
tailgate to hinge open like a normal house/car front door. I wondered at one point
whether it actually split and opened up like the back of a Range Rover?

I actually quite like the tailgate...
