I thought Frost drove an old sierra. Good plan to dig out some DVD's, enough on the computer today:)

I have the box set to Rohan 8-) . The Triumph was a basket case indeed, but have you noticed it changes. So they must have tried to restore it or binned the original one. It is good for car spotting.

I thought Frost drove a blue Sierra too. Didn't know he upgraded. Didn't get into Frost. Morse different story!

My vice a the mo...ITV4... New Avengers. Excellent 70's car spotting. Fridays ep had a Renault 16.

I believe Morse's red Jag was a terrible basket case when the episodes were being filmed, often not moving under its own steam..

I'd like to think it's been fully restored by now as it's so famous and doubtless did a lot to make MK2 Jags so collectable and expensive these days...

. . . And there's always the white Mk.2 Jag in Mona Lisa, with Bob Hoskins and Kathy Tyson. The car gets several serious outings.

. . . And The Professionals can be entertaining, too - particularly if you lived in West London (I grew up in Ealing), when you can play spot the location.

But, for the real nerd, playing Spot the Continuity Boob is an added bonus... A car chase starts out with the lads in a Rover P6 3500, and, in the next shot, they screech to a halt in a (usually) same colour 2000TC. Once, they managed to mysteriously transform from a 3500S to a 2000 Auto. Now (and I speak from personal experience here) a 2000 Auto is NOT the beast for chasing the villains down the Goldhawk Road!

Didn't there used to be an old Citroen joke about using hydropneumatics as getaway cars???

I think it has been restored and sold at auction...probably quite a few times by now.

Yes..professionals is a good one for car spotting. 8-)

With the New Avengers, BL would not get the fact they needed the same cars for the characters. So many cars were used...red jag XJS, two range rovers, one white ..one green, yellow sd1, mgb and yellow tr7. And of course, the Jag XJC with massive flared wheel arches, just for the main three Avengers. 1970's for you.

Not a sinker 1.9TD Xantia I'd hope. Wait for glowplugs and then wait for the suspension to pump up. World's worst getaway car

Only the Activa could be worse perhaps. 30-545s is normal for hydraulic pressure to be established on one of those..
