1st drive in a Xantia.

Off topic chat about anything you like. Doesn't have to be about XMs (though they will inevitibly come up!). You can even discuss non-Citroens :o in here!

1st drive in a Xantia.

Dropped the XM off at Malcom's/Savoy today for repairs to the window regulators and get the strut mount fitted. Also stripped the door mirrors off to get them re-painted ( lacquer peel ). Malcom lent me his Xantia 1.8 16v. What a lovely way to travel. Supremely soft ride and quite nippy. Waited many years to pop my Xantia cherry!! :-)

That's good Mark :D Did you find they feel tiny after an XM?

Wait until I see you at a rally with either my V6 or Activa and I'll let you experience those...

Felt surprisingly like a 'grown up' BX. I find the sound of the V6 Xantia intoxicating. Maurice was at Yaxley the other week with his new purchase. Sounds lovely. Thanks for the offer Jim, I'll certainly take you uo on it. Cheers. :-))

I did it for 2 years, driving a xantia and XM. A treat to get the XM but I kept loving the xantia too. Except the poorer drivers seat.(and when she gave up!:( )

Mark I haven't driven a Xantia. Never been in one either. Just simply haven't had the chance... :(
I also find V6 exhaust notes just amazing. I had forgotten what they sound like until at the ICCCR a blue V6 burbled past me.
Nearly lost it!!!

:) I missed that noise but must find out. I was blown of my feet by the beautiful noise of a French ID from 1966.....loved the sound every time it cruised passed our tent! Never knew that! :)

We will correct that at the next rally I bring a Xantia to Russ ;)

I love my XM to bits Jaap but I can't stop loving my Xantias either. I agree on the seat but S1 Activa leather is nearly as good as an XM if like me you're quite small...

Yep, the V6 burble is intoxicating :P

I must confess I have never driven a Xantia - well not far anyway, having looked at both I decided that if I was going to have the hastle of hydropnumatic suspension and the other quirks I would rather have the extra space and comfort as well.
