Yes russ .. as she is a 90 degree v engine with the air con compressor over the back that needs removing first and the belt tensioner is Not the easiest to do.. If i get her to Cxm rally end of the year ill show you the tension

the fuel pipe from metal to rubber join is just down behind there and with the compressor in the way it needs moving...er ...

Yikes, sounds like a pig of a job to do. Best of luck. Yeah you must show the offending item at this years CXM.

Well the latest...

NOTHING has been done!

I put the dash back together as I knicked the LH Display out of the Base 2.1 Manual for now as it had no Liquid Crystal bleeding. Ill buy a Peugeot 306 clock next to experiment with when it comes to dooing the base car up... they dont seem to bleed as often..

Whats still to do?

Remove seats and valet.. The rear seat base is green with mould from the open window, and the carpet on that side seems to have a Wax covering or something.. dunno what!! so that needs sorting cleaning..

I got a Seatbelt clip THANKYOU ROBERT! Your the Star as useual!, so that needs fitting to the drivers seat...

So generally get the interior back together...
Fit rear brake pads
Fit an exhaust front to back
Fit some front tyres
Weld the hole up
Check out the Cam belt, NO, replace the Cam belt and water pump.
Full Service
Got for an MOT
Test the car out for a couple of months
Decide if the head gasket and clutch really do need dooing, and if so, do them
Ponder over the broken rear quater glass...

Im currently not sure about the Clutch.. Each time I move the car the pedal feels better, Im working if its partally siezed nylon bush's that arent helping... Ill spray them a few more times while im working on her and see what happens.

As the car has been standing the clutch will be a bit odd. The one on the Cobalt car was very juddery at first but is fine now. The one on the mandarin car was completely shot.

You are still making progress Paul! Maybe we can cross a few things off your job card the week after next; if I don't get out of this Audi soon I'm going to die of boredom! Mind, I've got that to nurse through its MOT too...

Small progress on my part today, however, the Visit from Johnathan was great. Good to see you too Johnathan...

Anyway. I gave Johnathan the task of removing the seats and getting the carpet up and seeing what the underlay was like.. He did a sterling job, and tackled the mess on the rear passenger foot well carpet.. got the carpet out all together and then lifted the Foam underlay, it was soaking due to an open window for some time.. it was wet under there on the drivers side only, so he lifted that all out too... Brill stuff Johnathan, well pleased with your work...

As for me while this was all going on, I decided to jack up the front passenger side and tackle the rust hole.. To my horror today, I found ANOTHER hole to tackle, on the identical side on the drivers side!! Luckily they are a nice easy bit to weld..

Anyway, I made a start on the passenger side one..









So, cleaned up ready... made the plate to shape ready to put in, Plugged the welder in, only to find.. NO GAS ! Aaarrrrrgggghhhhhhhhh!

So.. had to abandond for now!
