Other than it's MOT test, my mandatrin one has been garage bound since about October...or maybe even earlier.

All right then, who has bought the last rubber O rings for the ZF 4HP18 auto box in the country????

I popped down to our local Citroen dealer this afternoon....quite like doing this for the looks you get..."OH NO AN XM...GET IT OFF OUR FORECOURT..WE GOT RID OF ALL OF THESE AGES AGO AND NOW ONE HAS RETURNED"!

So, no O rings in the country. Can be ordered, but will take forever to arrive from France. Nice to know they are still available at a decent price...but I sort of knew that anyway. So I have given up on that and will risk them being okay....

Unless of course someone has another source.

Then I went to Halfruads to by some nice orange funnels to aid in refilling the gear box with it's red juices. A nice surprise was a Silver Visa was in the car park. Sorry no pics, but it was a later model with a black spoiler. Looked kind of sporty, but not chavved up. I wonder who owns that?
Anyway a further bonus is the ABS light and message, preheat light and fuel gauge now work again as they should. This happens. I think if the car hasn't been used, it all get's a bit damp and they give up! So next time I take it for a spin, they'll be back to their old tricks!

Plan this week. Get the gearbox fluid changed. Then I have the pleasure of servicing my Sisters KA, before a long jaunt up to Newcastle where it will now live. Thats fine, but talk about cramped engine bay. I think they built the car around it rather than fitting it to the car. Typical Ford.

All this subzero temperatures. Oh Joy!

Well, I passed my local car parts guy, and the first thing he said: 'hey, don't you have an XM..there was a guy here lately who really wanted one and finally bought one.' Apparently he was in town recently and Phelan motors cherish the memory of an old long gone CX safari. Of course he did have an oil filter for me

Anyway, are you still talking about the rubber for the filler cap? If not, is she leaking fluids from the drain thingie underneath?

It's the filter cover and filter o rings I'm on about Jaap. Citroen have none in the country, and have to order some from France.
Would take a while and wouldn't say exactly when they would arrive. Annoying. Nothing leaking though.

If it doesn't leak, don't worry about them. Top one won't leak in my humble opinion, unless maybe you go drive like James Bond. The lower one you can always change when it would start leaking but mine, don't leak after all those years.

That's Citroen's standard answer, makes it sort of special, as though they are trying especially for you.

Of course you could pop down to GSF who have a delivery from France every day.
