It's a tricky one to call - who knows what's going to turn up on the day.

All I'm saying is, the more the merrier! :D

I reckon that there's going to be more of the "others" category - apparently 8 DS3s from the DS3Club are coming along!
A good show of BX there.

I think the XM will be out in force this year, we have a number of new members on this forum who have committed.

More of a question is, what will Dave the rave show up in, and Franklin, you promised an X car would be there... ;)

Well i mentioned going down to the show earlier on to Linda, it was in passing but didnt seem to have any issues with it.

The problem i have is we are doing the bathroom this week, walls stripped down to bare brick, new ceiling, plastered walls, new tiled floor..literally the lot!, and its bled all our savings dry. Thats ok as we have budgeted for that...but today the stop tap for the water sheared off  ...luckily in the closed position, so what im hoping now is that it doesnt cost us a fortune to get fixed (as we now have no water or heating) and eats up whatever money i was planning on for fuel etc coming down this sunday....
Honestly, sometimes im sure this house is cursed

I spent some time this morning feeding the exterior plastic trims round the xm's windows....its looking quite tidy and a bit shiny, so i think ill carry on prepping as if there wont be any problem attending, and that way if we get everything fixed again without having to sell a lung or something, ill be show ready for the trip down...

Fingers crossed for dry sunny weather and some above zero temperatures :D

Do your own stop tap, it's easy.
Find the stop tap out at the pavement and turn it off using a long forked rod or piece of wood, replace inside stop tap, turn outside one back on.

Total cost about £10 for a stop tap.

I'm not sure if the BXers can pull off as-good-an attendance, as 26 was very good indeed. Interesting to see.

Will be good to see more XMs in attendance, same with CXs. Dad's bringing the third oldest CX in the UK this year...

All being well, Will, yes it will be there...

I appreciate the idea....but ive looked at that option...the reason the stop tap broke, is because it wouldnt undo...its the original one from 1938 when this house was built, complete with original lead piping. After the day ive had im not going anywhere near it...if the lead pipes break im stuffed :| Some things are best left to people who specialise in these sorts of things...and im not one of them ;)

No problem Vince, I have old plumbing books here that explains how to make wiped joints on lead pipes in exquisite detail.

Many, many years ago when dad still had all the kit I had a go. It's great fun and very satisfying...

Trouble is, your local DIY place won't stock all you need, like sticks of plumbers solder, a ladle, splash-sticks, wiping cloths, lamp-black and tallow.

But yes, not something to go anywhere near unless you have all the kit and skill as whoever replaces the stop cock will need to make wiped joints to the original lead either side of it.

Vintage plumbing is of great interest to me...

On a positive note though, Linda says she isnt bothered what i do on sunday, so ive checked the weather for leicestershire for sunday and it all seems dry...so bring it on :)

Well it seems ive managed to talk Linda and Jack to come down to Burghley House too ;)

They can have a wander round the lovely house and gardens and visit the food market. Then they can wander over and have a look at some true beauties...aka Old Citroens :)

How close is the showfield to the house?
