Hi, yes he has been in touch. I've been busy at work the last few days but know the car is in good hands.

Having run a car on biodiesel and Veg oil, unless doing very high miles, I wouldn't bother again. I do in the region of 25k p.a. and found it too much hassle and the risk of issues is greatly increased.

What issues do you refer to? The XUD engines suffer no ill effects from being run on veg oil, rather the opposite. As long as it's not the Lucas pump there are no real problems apart from changing the fuel filter more frequently. I've done in the region of 50k miles on veg and none of the problems I've had have been related although whenever I've broken down as soon as the AA/RAC realise you're on 'chip fat' they automatically decide to pin the blame on that!

Of course, you need to allocate time to collecting, dewatering and filtering the oil before use so that can be costly in terms of time if it's at a premium.
