Not quite. Lucas EPIC engined 2.1TD's have the cruise functionality built into the ECU and it can be retrofitted with the appropriate switches, wiring and cabling as I have done with mine.

And my funny tyre is still nice and hard as of now and that’s after a couple of trips out so gawd only knows what went on.

Not trusting the car for work tomorrow though. The thought of coming out of work and finding a flat/soft tyre is just too much to tolerate. The Activa is going to be used for work this week. Every cloud and all that :-D

Will miss the XM though - she's kind of slipped into the role of daily driver without me even being aware...

And late last evening the tyre was still hard...

All the bits I need to try a cruise ECU repair have arrived and I'm hoping on my day off tomorrow I can have a go at fixing it.

Last evening was a no-go for an ECU repair as after a full day at work I was almost comatose...

I witnessed something quite remarkable yesterday morning. On the roundabout near my house, on the road up from the M1 I saw one of my colleagues waiting at said roundabout giving way to me. He was in his Audi TT. I very soon left him well behind and it was well on the way to work before he caught up with me again. At work I asked him what kept him. I thought he'd stopped in town or something to visit a shop.

'Speed bumps' he said. 'No way could I even try to keep up with you in your Citroen over those!'

And that was in the hardest hydraulic car of all, the Activa!

someone said to me I took the bumps slower in the Citroens than they did in their car - a Focus!

Maybe it just felt slower in the XMs.

It's not hard Russ :D  Had a look at a newish Sirocco yesterday. Then I went to my Activa.. Easy choice...

Well, my tyre is still good. Put the gauge on it just now and it still has the same amount of bars as it did just after I pumped it up on Saturday...

You don't like the new sirocco which isn't produced anymore or so I heard. Not a bad design I think. VAG isn't making ugly cars any more, they've overtaken citroen left right and centre :( Don't worry, won't buy one any time soon :)

VAG make very boring looking cars. I was sat at the lights right next to our VW dealer...every model bar the beetle looked the same. All in black or silver or grey. Boring boring boring.

I have just looked that up Jaap, and it seems that VW aren't planning to replace the current model. They were, but not now. Maybe that's it. But that new model was due this year...so you might be right.

The new beetle, is quite good looking! I think they are making less boring cars every generation even though I hate to admit. Colour wise, you make have a point.

I had a Golf 6 automatic on hire lately. Lovely car to drive! Very comfortable! Much improved over the golf 5 and pre face lift current generation Passat with the big chrome front.
