If that's the right word, is the headlining easily removable on a series 2?

I know all the plastic trim need to be removed.
I guess it's even more complicated with a sunroof.
I know it's a disastrous job in a CX but I would hate to find out half way through the job that the only way to get rid of it is ripping it apart

Its very easy to do. Remove everything attached to it, plastic round the edges, door handles, visors etc. And the head lining is held up by velcro. Its very flexible too.

Beware if you have a sunroof.
There is an extra screw centre front into the headlining from above.
Open the sunroof to find the torx screw, one very long thin one amongst a row of short ones for the roof frame.
Beware also of buying broken headlinings from Robert.

Great, thanks for the good news and tips as well! I never bought anything broken from Robert (yet)
Just back from really enjoying myself, driving 2 hours in the Diesel. Especially the last hour after coming back from the dentist.

Yep I got that toy Robert. It's got a black head lining that will go into the petrol along with the leather and carpets.
Anyone for the airco system electronic heating and ventilation on the dash, never saw that before. All working too.

Don't know what velcro means. Will get stuck on electric rear windows and the wiring of that. In other words I'll be in trouble soon, quite a job to swap interiors.

I clicked here thinking yayyyy!!! Then realised it's just another poor sod messing with the wonders of the XM interior.

The headlining really is easy to remove. As has been said remove everything that holds it up, and keep all the screws in a bag or similar. Apart from the screw John has mentioned there is nothing that isn't obvious to remove.
