I too am generally against breaking cars but Bob needs it moved and nobody has yet offered to buy and restore. As I am not a diesel man and already have enough cars my only interest really is in the spares to keep others on the road. There is certainly some welding needed and the mileage is quite high and with the lower spec and fairly standard colour that all sadly does reduce the appeal I suppose. Regards, Matthew T.

You were never on your own in breaking the car, Matthew. I, and a few others, have offered to take part in a group purchase but it all went very quiet. Paul is now offering to take the car as a whole, maybe to make one good Mandarin car out of two. That surely has to be the best option of all.

I got no firm commitments for assistance earlier in the thread and both Russ, Paul and yourself are understandably quite far distant. In the meantime I was awaiting a chance to take another look at the car! Only yesterday I went back across to Dereham and I hope to post more detail later today, but basically I now think the car is too good to break! Regards, Matthew T.
