Was waiting for the missus the other day, flicking from radio to tape (have a tape to aux thing), when I noticed the LH display and radio display say CD Changer. A second later CD ERROR came up and it switched back to tape.
Did these come with a changer option? If so I can't see a button for it. Has a CD Changer - AUX lead mod been made yet?
Annoyed the missus after that going from radio to tape for 15 mins incase it happened again. It didn't
Where would a changer sit in an estate XM?

Useually fitted to Exclusive cars, but can be added to any model with the correct head unit.

You need the cd changer and lead. Easy to retro fit.

In the Xantia they live in the boot so you're blissfully unaware of how noisy they are.
Being under the front passenger seat in the XM you're very aware of the incredible series of clicks and whirrs they make every time the ignition is switched on and when the changer swaps discs

Wicked, cheers guys. Not up for getting a cd changer, don't play cd's. Plus the changer sounds like a downgrade from the above comments! If there was a way to retrofit bluetooth to the s2 radio however....
However, will investigate under the front seats, see if there's room for an amp under there!

Citroen offered two alternatives for the CD in the XM.
Boot in cars and under the front seat in estates.
Each option had its own mounting brackets.
Multiway cable is long enough for the boot option and not something to try and shorten.
So for the seat version you hid bundles of spare cable in the centre console.
Only a matter of time before the analogue radio signals get switched off I thought.
So the radios become an ornament anyway.

My changer is in the boot. I bought a spare 'magazine' off eBay so I can swop over CD's without too much faffing around.

I've got a changer in the boot, too. It's a Sony, like the AM/FM radio with audio cassette player.

I agree there! When I have some spare money one day I have a nice dab+ head unit in my eBay watch list. Need to find the cable for the steering wheel controls as well though.
On the subject of steering wheel buttons, does the connector cable work well with all the buttons? Saying that, I only ever use the vol and mode buttons. Anyone with an aftermarket setup confirm that the mode still switches source and the vols still work?
