Off topic chat about anything you like. Doesn't have to be about XMs (though they will inevitibly come up!). You can even discuss non-Citroens :o in here!

I can get 45-50 on a long run at 70mph though.
I have a similar affliction.

I just like seeing the look on people's faces when they get overtaken by a shoddy old citroen (she looks minging atm! Had to drive down a rutted muddy track to get to work as Marlow was screwed one day last week) I do try and be sensible, mostly on the motorway when I'll sit at 60-70...

Just because you can do 90 in 3rd and still pull 45mpg!

The scrape of brake pad against metal on the way home today (just after the fuel fill up) has relegated rnm to under the tree till the pads are replaced. That's the big issue about hard, fast driving. It is fun in a shonky old car though.

I haven't bothered measuring economy in my bosch 2.1 auto since her inaugural run home....I seem to remember getting about 42/43mpg and I wasn't hanging about.

The XM has changed me as a driver. I don't really go fast anymore. I seem quite content to go everywhere at 60mph (motorways obviously).
I wonder with a TCT or a V6 if I'd revert to my old ways?

Campbell, I need to replace my rear pads as the scraping is driving me nuts right now- as is the wait for the new pads to arrive....expected them a few days ago!

Driving an auto slows you down, get back in a manual to live again...

It's the auto thing Rommel. I calmed down in the Tct but in the 2.1 manuals they want to be driven hard. Front pads for me. Pads and mot are next tuesday. :-0
