Scrap cars can be returned to the road without a VIC as long as it is genuinely the same car with the registered major mechanical components. The only exceptions are Insurance category A and B, C with a VIC check and scrappage scheme cars.

My Cobalt car had been declared scrapped, but I put it back on the road.

I bought a XM that was declared scrapped with DVA, and paid for a duplicate V5, and all was fine. They removed the scrap marker.

The choice to break this car WAS NOT there then... as I hadn't seen the "Extra" holes in the Cills..

So that irrelevent to me really. The SD value is still higher then what I spent I think..

Ive also got the boot midde plastic and rear reflector to go in now

Amazing what you can find under a boot carpet....radiator, alternator, head gasket!!!
Also interesting seeing what is behind the lights on the boot door. I always thought it would be a nice idea hiding a third LED brake light in between the reversing lights. But alas there be an 'ole in the way.

Nice job getting that rear window out. Well done, bet your really chuffed. :)

It is a pity, but it is the right decision to brake it up.

Once Linda is back earning again Paul ill be coming over to do a deal on some spares to bring back for the preservation and restoration of my xm ;)

Definitely interested in some of the bits you have ;) Whatever you do, try not to damage the dash display panel you have out of this one....mine needs replacing, I scratched it a while back and the r/h display is shot as you know ;)

I have about THREE RH displays with NO bleeding etc..

If I can get the glass out without breaking them then anything else should not be a problem!!

Keep a watch to see progress. The other reason for dismantle I decided that the Old SED needs the rear subframe mounts welding, like the 24v, but they are quite good on this J reg, so, remove the subframe and cut the Box Sections out completely and treat them inside, and stick them on the SED! Better JOB done.

I also needs the near side leading edge of the wheel arch for another Project Car I have... so that will come in usefull too..
